Honeycomb structure and dimensional stability
A common problem with cheap knock-offs is the so-called ‘memory effect’.
Original
Duette fabrics are extremely dimensionally stable. Even after the pleated blind has been tightly compressed for a long time, the folds spring back into their even honeycomb shape.
Topar coating
High-quality fabric finish, resistant to humidity and insect marks, with high reflection and low heat permeability.
Dustblock coating
Dirt-repellent finish that allows quick, practical cleaning: dirt comes off far more easily than with other products and it is highly repellent against dry dirt.
Thermal efficiency (the climate-zone principle)
The honeycomb structure is not just about looks – it forms an air cushion.
Insulation
The original is scientifically optimised to keep the heat out in summer and to reduce heat loss at the window by up to 46% in winter.
Precision
The air chambers in Duette are manufactured more precisely, which makes the energy effect measurable, whereas no-name products often use thinner fleeces that insulate less.
Sound absorption
Thanks to the special textiles and the precise double honeycomb, room noise can be dampened by up to 45%. This makes a noticeable difference in rooms with lots of glass, parquet or little carpeting. Imitations often use simpler fabrics that reflect sound more.

UV resistance
Duette fabrics are highly lightfast. The colours stay brilliant on the room side, while the back (often coated white for reflection) does not yellow.
Care
The originals are usually suitable for damp rooms and can often even be washed without the glued honeycomb joints coming apart. With cheap imports there is a high risk that the honeycombs separate from one another during cleaning.
